Do they make the Koso gauges for the pregens? That is one awesome looking set-up.

You can send the gauge to Koso USA and they will put whatever millage you want on the gauge, it had a cost but I have no idea how much. I spoke to them a while back about this and they said no problem.

Btw, I have one but is the Sportisi version and it looks a lot more decent than the koso bezel. The koso bezel is totally flat and the Sportisi version has some conture on it.
I'll. Try to take some pics and post them here, I haven't installed the gauge yet.

It is so cool to see the plug and play kit for the 250 Ninja. I first did this in 2008 and have had so much response. It is the most popular page on New Ninja.com with over 12000 views.

http://www.newninja.com/modifications/koso-dash/

Koso copied my kit and now it is plug and play..How cool is that?

If anyone has any trouble or wants to adapt one of these dash panels to a first gen bike .Just PM me and I will be glad to help out with wiring it up .

Definitely looks sweet, more of a want then a need though. This would look nice with that shinto painted or CF dash

Koso Gauge Kit from Sportisi

Here is the Koso RX2 kit from Sportisi. In my opinion a lot better looking kit from the original koso bezel. BTW the kit came with a different 2 inch gauge, I had that one laying around and replaced with this one to see how it looks. The bezel is made of fiber glass. and the koso gauge fit there very nicely. I hope I can install the gauge in a couple of weeks. it's been laying around in the box for a few month now.

The koso gauge is truely an upgrade from stock. as far as the odometer goes it comes brand new so it starts at zero. I read somewhere that they can program it fro you ahead of time....the plug and play kit should be great...I went with racer x and fabricated my own plate. I love the gauge. Made an ipod mount on the dash right next to the gauge so I can change songs, up volume, etc right in front of me without getting it out of my pocket.

The koso is a great upgrade for the ninja. have a water temp and clock are so great. like the sportisi one, not sure what i would use the extra gauge hole for. wideband maybe.

i think with koso, you no longer use the mechanical speedo line but instead you have to install some little magnet around the rotors for it to pick up the speed/rpm thing. ??

Actually you can still use the mechanical speedo. the magnets i think are an option.

You can reuse the stock cable one with a adapter. it's easier to remove the stock cable and install the magnetic pickup one. it makes the speedo dead on.

JR: Have you completed your install yet? BTW... are you satisfied with the fit and finish of the bezel. I've heard that the quality of the bezel could be better.

JR's pics above appear ok. Since SHINTO is having its issues, we will be depending on you Matt for these. Can you describe your concerns with the bezel?

Thanks in advance!

Finish is about a 6.5 but with the unit mounted it looks good. The mounting points on the bottom can sometimes be filled with resin. I'm a perfectionist. Since these dash mount are all hand made they are never perfect.

Hey Matt. Does the version of the dash you sell only have a cutout for the voltmeter and Koso gauge? Or does it have a cutout for the gear indicator as another option? Thanks.

No it does not have the cut out for the gear indicator. I want to make it clear I DON'T SELL THESE!!!!!!!!!!!! From time to time I am willing to source them. But I do not stock them and have no intention of doing so. If I get them they will cost more then the previously mentioned company. By how much I don't know I would have to look.

Hi Jason, like Matt said, the finish is not great. Mine looks good because I used some filler and some glazing putty, it had some pinholes and other defects. I then proceed to paint it.
I haven't done the installation yet. I'll be moving back to GA this weekend and was planning on install this to the bike in the next week or two.
It definitely looks much better than stock gauge. You can easily repair the imperfection, is not a big deal at all. I have a lot of (8 feet by 4 feet) 3M dinoc black carbon fiber and I'm planning on wrap the bezel for a better look.
I know how to work with fiberglass and I been thinking of doing building a few things for the 250 and this bezel is one of them.

Let me konw if you have any questions.

Thanks JR for the info. I agree with you that the small blemishes could be easily repaired. My only concern is the mounting points are accurate. I can handle a little bondo, sanding and paint but I don't want to have to mess and fiberglass. Not that I can't, I just don't like it.

Matt is getting some info for me. I'm still trying to recover from Christmas but the KOSO kit will be in my future.

Have we confirmed that it is in fact a sham? I have read some of the other posts, and it seems unclear.
