choke lever

I don't know if this is normal or not but on my bike I either use no choke or full choke. There's no in between. If I start to pull the choke lever slowly to full I didn't see any difference until the lever is at the full position.
Is this normal?
How do I fix this?
It was cold this morning. So I started the bike at full choke. It was reving at 7 rpm. I was trying to adjust it to 2-3 but at soon as I pull the lever down the rpm dropped down to 1-2 rpm like when the choke is fully off although the choke is only half way down.

Thanks,
Tin

my seems to be open or closed as well, no in between. If yours is reving at 7000 rpm then there could be an adjusment that needs to be made.

It sounds like the choke cable needs to be adjusted. This is covered in the service manual and may be discussed in the owner's manual. The same thing happened on my bike. I discovered the problem when I did the 600 mile service and readjusted the choke cable.

Did anyone try adjusting their choke cable to correct this issue? I have the same problem and would interested in learning if the adjustment worked and how involved the process was...IIRC I read somewhere that you need to get under the tank to make adjustments.
