Need help picking Fuel gas tank lock

My problem is, I have a gas tank that I bought from ebay. The guy that sold it to me didn't remove his lock from the tank. I messaged him if he could send me a key or if there was anything he can do, but he had already sold his bike and doesn't have the key anymore. He recommended that I take it to a lock smith.

But before I do that, does anyone know how to pick the lock or can help me somehow remove it? I've read somewhere that people have just stuck in a flat head into the key hole and turn, but that didn't work for me.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not going to drill the lock itself. There's a screw underneath the gas cap that needs to be unscrewed in order to remove the cap (including all the allen screws on the out side). I'm going to drill a hole on the cap right above the screw so I can access it with a screw driver and unscrew it.

Just like in the link I posted above. Will be doing it this weekend.

I was going to try my "automotive jigglers" on my fill cap and see if that works. They are picks designed for most automotive locks (especially Detroit big 3). I am curious how well that would work now

nice, I wouldn't even know how to use that even if I had it. Is there a special method to use those keys?
