Leaning to the right

Anyone have any suggestions for me as far as leaning/body positioning to the right? I seem to have more problems positioning my body for a right than left turn. I become more tensed and not as loose compared to leaning left. I attribute part of this to the fact that the throttle is on the right side. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?

Doesn't happen to me (but it used too). Actually I forget if it was rights or lefts. Now no problems. I guess it just takes time, experience, and getting used to what feels comfy and safe.

Try putting your arms in different postions, elbows higher or elbows lower. Make sure you have the throttle where you want it before your enter the turn, that way you aren't fooling with it until your exit. Make sure there isn't any play in the throttle (so you don't have to move the throttle so far to get a response. Try putting your hand in a different postion on the grip (like you would hold the grip if you were standing next to the bike, on the right side).

Loosen your grip on the grip. Maybe you have a death grip and aren't able to make finite throttle control.

The strongest muscles are your legs. Use them to position your upper body.
Depending on the speed thru a corner, the more body position and leg power you need.
Just ride more and it comes naturally.
When you get good, you can pick any point in a turn and hit it!
I rode a lot of canyons yesterday, and can tell you where I feel it is
in my quads! They are sore!

Thanks guys. I guess, hopefully it's just time and practice as you both said. Thanks for the advice.

Are you setting your body up the same for right/left turns? Is it your hands causing the problems?

Not that it's recommended but you should be able to take your hands off the bars mid turn without falling off and losing your balance. You can try seeting up for the turns in your driveway with the bike on a rear stand. Get to the point where your positioning is nearly identical.

Betlog, just remember the not recommended part of this sentence. If you want to try it, do it at a track.

Try having a buddy with a camera video you in both left and right turns. You can really learn a lot from watching the videos, and you'll be very surprised at the difference from what you THINK you're doing, compared to what you're actually doing.
