Rear spool thread size
Would anybody know the thread size of the rear spools for the lifting stands? I just bought a set and they gave me the wrong ones, I've got m10x 1.5. But I think they are definitely m10 but don't know if they are .25 or .75.
Oh and its for a 09 250r Cheers |

Does the .25 and .75 indicate length of the bolt? When I got mine it was labled 10mm with no other value and they were for a zx-6 if I remember correctly. If the ones you got are made for kawis then it should fit.

the .25 is for the TPI (threads per inch) and the M10 is thickness of the bolt. on the back of the box it say's zx-6 but they still don't fit.

As soon as the thread makes contact it locks up. Pretty sure they are m10, just not .5

I guess it's possible that the spools you bought are of the wrong thread pitch, but it's unlikely. It's more likely that the threads in the spool bosses on your swingarm are notchy and perhaps not fully cut. If you have a chance to get to a dealership (or anywhere there are other bikes), try and handscrew your spools into another kawi (or any bike that has an M10 spool boss), and it's likely they will work fine. If that turns out to be the case, the fix is to clean your threads on the bike so they'll accept the spools.

yes, there have been bikes that had the swing arm threads for the spools filled with paint which made them difficult, if not impossible, to thread in the spools without cleaning the threads first with proper sized a tap.

Nope. Front stand is held up either by a pin through the triple tree, or on rollers at the bottom of each fork. Nothing needs to be added to the bike.

No, but I think I've seen spools that are made for the front. MotorcycleSuperstore might have em.

I've seen 8mm and 10mm spools in the exact same packaging but with a dot or a mark indicating which one. They would both have something about Kawi and Honda on them, for example.

I know this thread is old, however i also have encountered a M10*1.25 sized swing arm thread on my 2012 ninja 250R.... kind of a p*ss off because the spools i bought came with M10*1.5 bolts...

Most are M10 with a 1.25 pitch. Every once in awhile people are coming across ones that have the 1.5 pitch though, including one swingarm that had different pitches on either side.

I had some problem with ebay spool thread size also, ive ordered spool and they came with one with the good tread size , the other one was off, so i asked that they resend the bolt, still bad
I finally ordered a venom stand that came with free spool and took those bolt since they were the good thread size |

Bought some cheap ones off ebay that came with 1 correct size and the other was an M6 for a different bike requiring me to drill it out and pop the centers out so they both looked the same, yes i could have sent them back, but the time it would have taken would have been too long and not really worth the time and effort.
