Broken Spark plug?
My brother had a problem with his bike... I got an email form him
"While changing the plug out & inserting the new one, I overtightened it to the point where it broke off into the opening, the part the sock was on came off the part w/the threads are in the bike" Can anyone offer any suggestions??? |

How do you over tighten the plug that much? I would think the threads would strip first. Like Kim said what bike? If it's well and truly broken time to remove the head.

10 mm plugs will snap off leaving the threads in the engine. One of those easy outs that is made to remove brokenm bolts works. There is already a hole down the center so you don't have to drill it.

A long left handed drill bit would also probably work just as well.

They're both specialty tools that most people wouldn't have around to begin with. If you have to buy one, I'd go with the easy out. However there are more primitive methods he could try before having to buy anything. But one would need a clear picture of the situation to plan a course of action.

You can get the easy out from home depo. They have a square end so a 12 point socket with some tape to keep it from falling off the socket worked for me.
