Chain Slack?

I was just wondering How much chain slack there should be. I bought my bike with the chain extremely tight.. I am pretty sure this isnt going to be good for the sprockets. On my F4i and RR we usually run around 1 inch to 1.25 inch of slack.

Anyone know what would be healthy on a 09 250R?
