staying with forums

Okay, so I have joined a forum for every hobby/vehicle I have ever had

A forum fo BMW's from the 1980s for my first car, then another forum for 1990s BMW's when I got my 2nd car...then to ninja250.org for my old ninjette, then to 600rr.net for my cbr...now to this site for my newgen. On every site, there are people that stick around for years and accumulate thousands of posts. My post account for any given forum rarely goes above 40. I usually post need-to-know info and start a thread or two if I need technical help. Really though, I usually get every question I need answered by just doing a search, and I usually register just so I can view photos or search without entering captha. I suppose I am just out of the loop on engaging on an online community. Since this is in the offtopic area, let me know...how do people stick with this for so long, and do people usually participate in multiple forums?

You all are entertaining! Or we are all like family. Awww!
Otherwise, I can't think of another excuse for spending so much time here.

For me it's simple: I have my own office and when I take a break from my work every hour or so, I cruise through here.

Plus, 80% of my posts are in the off-topic section(I think). You would be surprised how knowledgeable many of our members are. It's quite shocking.

Perhaps you have enough friends IRL and don't care for it online? That's completely understandable in my eyes.

Doubtful, but I suppose we'll save that for my next session.

So do most of you stick with one forum or do you cruise multiple forums? I suppose I do get the itch every once and again to view crash pics in the stunter area on the cbr forums, but I've never seena need to stick with a forum. Especially with kawi 250 sites, where people usually get rid of their bikes after a year, many stay when they've owned a thousand bikes since the little ninj. I suppose the member list to regular posters at any given forum is 1000 : 1, but every forum has that handful of people with insane loyalty to the site.

It depends on the topic of the forum. I have been a part of many different forums because of different needs/subjects. However, I think this is where I have made more posts than any other. I like these forums because of the people and the layout. The layout makes it enjoyable to view and the people make it worthwhile to keep coming back.

I think you'll find that here there are more than you think who stick with the 250. There are plenty here that downsized to the 250, then there are others that have no need/want for anything bigger, then you have the smaller group of people who get a 250 for a short while before upgrading. But honestly I've seen more here in the first two groups than in the last one.

It's a good website with good people. I don't even have a 250 anymore, and I still come here. I haven't visited the ZX forum in months.
