Walmart luggage, anyone?
Saw a thread on advrider where a kid rocked a full set of Walmart luggage on his pregen Ninjette.
Anybody here have any experience with Walmart luggage?

Do you mean the saddlebags? Or like real luggage?
I had the Paul Jr bags and they held up well to the abuse I put them through. There's several review threads floating around (I'd like nk them but my phone hates searching for stuff).

I suppose not real "luggage", but their soft tank, tail, and saddle bags.

Here's my pics of the saddlebags though my review was rather lame at the time.
https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=120501 They did hold up well across country, began fading a bit from the sun, and the rain covers worked great through the east coast downpours.

The tank bag is a Cortech Super 2.0 8-Liter Magnetic Tank Bag. Magnets have held on great over the last few years, but the rain cover on the old version is not waterproof at all!
I'm wanting a new one for a bit more space and the new rain cover with a clear panel to see the map underneath.

I melted mine! well the bag itself didn't melt, some of contents at the bottom of the bag did.. I had a sleeping bag strapped on top of the saddle bag, at rest clearance to the muffler looked fine, but at highway speeds the wind pushed the bags down.

Will do. I'm hoping to take some rides up and around the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and to the Grand Traverse Bay area next spring.. tour my home state for a few hundred miles or so.
It'll be nice not to have to stuff everything into one backpack. |

I myself got all my luggage of eBay, it was all use barely, some look new, I paid about half of the new prices, it's all Rapid Transit brand.
I took a trip this past summer and they performed excellently. I just used the tank and tail bags, didn't need the saddle bags. |

Yeah it almost doubles in height if you look carefully at the pictures you can see the zipper line about in the middle.

It did not, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have one anyway. I did get caught in the rain, for about 4 hours, and just a little damp, next time I will use a trashbag or get some MIL-SPEC waterproof bags.
The tank bag and saddle bags have covers built-in. |

@Ghostt, good to know! The price per liter of storage is pretty good for those bags. Excellent options, indeed

It's a really good post for me and also advise how to solve the luggage problem with ninja with a reasonable price.
Do you guy think that a hard saddle case is a good idea as it no longer need to remove every time we park and some have lock also. I start riding last month and don't have much idea about what pro/cons but hopeful I could have some storage place other than my backpack. Thanks, Edward |
