Red face ATG-ish as of today.

Jacket arrives today. Actually, just showed up as I was half way through this post. It's not the priciest (or most protective) set, but I figure its a start until I can afford better. All pics link to amazon.

I went down in-town with an Xelement mesh before and it held up very nicely. This one seems to have even more durable features. So I'm confident.

I'm a little less confident in these, but they were on the tail end of my budget and I had to cut corners. Kevlar lined in "critical areas" with CE knee and hip protectors.

The helmet was purchased mainly for the style and affordability. I like the dual sport look minus the brim thing. Looks like this, except white instead of high vis.

Got these gauntlets on sale for half price at Cycle Gear. I was confident about them until I saw @CaptainPlatypus wreck thread. Originally I wanted these Scorpion gauntlets with palm sliders. But money, or the lack thereof, is a powerful thing.

Then there's the -ish part. I'm still wearing leather steel toed boots that cover the ankles, but not much further up.

Now you just need some boots to qualify for full ATG.

I wouldn't wear steel toed boots. If something happens that causes the steel to dent on top of your toes, you could be royally ****ed.

Otherwise, nice jacket/jeans combo!

You got a good start, but seriously need some boots.

What size shoe you wear?? I have a pair of Bilt boots (black w/ mesh) in size 13 US. Worn less than 1 month, sitting around as spares.
However, I just bought a 2nd pair of Sidi's and my cobras are now my backups.

So....If they will fit you, I can ship em to ya free.

Wow that's a generous offer, but I'm only a size 8.5/9 US. Thank you, though.

Would those boots fit a wide foot? I don't need free if they do and shipping would not kill you.

Gloves with palm sliders make a great deal of sense to me. I have yet to decide on any but will have to actually try them on before purchasing anything. I have seen a great deal of variation in sizing with those.

No worries..too bad they won't fit.
Thankfully we found the boots another place to go, for someone who needs last piece of gear

No sorry they wouldn't fit a wide, but they do make wide options in the boot.

Did you have the same pair? Or was it another style?

Different style, thankfully. They don't have the style name listed anywhere but I'll get some pictures up later today.

I had 3 sets of bilt gloves, all had something break.
Mostly stitching falling apart from normal use, but 1 set broke the plastic ring for the wrist strap.
All where winter gloves and all in 1 season...

The last set did it's job and saved my hands just fine when I got hit on my Fz6r!! They where the pair where stitching stayed fine from use, but the ring for wrist strap broke.

Best thing is Cycle gear will replace them on the spot, after 3rd trip I just didn't feel like going through it again.

I ride with textile pants. Has knee protection. Hip area has light (very light) padding as well. However, my shin is fully exposed as my boots aren't tall enough.

What do you guys do for shin armor? Do your riding pants have shin armor built in?
