Carb Question

Does anyone know what the functionality of the four highlighted holes are? I just finished installing a SixSigma jet kit and noticed these, but have no idea what they do. Thanks!

Those are idle holes.

When the throttle valve or butterfly plate is close to or completely closed, some air by-passes it via these little passages cast into the carb's body to feed the idle system.

Do you know where the holes lead to? There is a brass plug on the opposite side of the holes.

The brass plug is to close the passage after a long drill opens it.

Using that trick, the manufacturer can achieve bends or U-shapes just using drills.

The holes lead to the mixture screw, where air (induced by strong vacuum) from them plus fuel from the pilot jet mix to feed the engine at idle rpm's and some rpm's above those.
