The Dragon/US129/Tail of the Dragon
Our local (East TN) stomping ground made it on Hell Roads on Discovery channel. I'm not sure how I never saw this before, but I came across it on Youtube tonight.
Darryl Cannon (KillBoy) even has an interview/story on clip.

It's so funny how dramatic TV shows make everything.

It's only missing Robin Leach commentary to be truly over the top, think Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Would actully be cool to hear Jeremy Clakson's thoughts on the road, "are you mad?"
I'm so glad trucks were prohibited before my first ride through, especially after reading all the horror stories and seeing the pics/vids. |

His body positioning seems odd...he slides off the seat to get his knee down..but yet leaves his upper body centered on the bike. Maybe its for the transitions in rapid succession, but its just as likely to be bad body position.

I'd love to make it down there either this summer or next, but the thought of meeting a semi really spoils the whole idea for me. It obviously isn't a place where they belong. |

In 7 years of riding the Dragon I've only come in 1 serious altercation with a semi. No one was hurt.

It only takes one altercation to end your life.

Just saying. Not every day of a police officers life is like CSI: Miami. Not every day tons of people die on us 129.
Is it a dangerous road? If you don't treat it with respect it sure it. Are you going to get run over and drug behind a semi your first run? Probably not. But then again, if we wanted to be safe we'd all be driving Suburbans. Wouldn't we @Jono? Posted via Mobile Device |

Yes.
And I want to go to the Dragon but my bike is naked and riding 7 hours on the interstate without fairings would be hell. Haha. |

@TnNinjaGirl Likewise.
Maybe if I get a new bike with fairings I will make it over there within a year or so. Hopefully. I was hoping to ride there this summer but life happened. |

I so want to go there, not to ride excessively though, but to see how my bike handles those turns as well as my skills as a rider.
Although I'm not looking forward on having to worry about guys like the video above screaming by me. |
