[visordown.com] - 66000 HarleyDavidsons recalled after frontwheel lock up
HARLEY-DAVIDSON is recalling 2014 Touring and CVO-Touring motorcycles with ABS installed over a brake line fault which could see the front wheel lock up. The affected motorcycles may have an incorrectly positioned brake line fitted, enabling it to get pinched between the fuel tank and frame. This could cause brake fluid pressure to increase, potentially causing the front wheel to lock. The fault has led to five crashes, prompting over 66,000 motorcycles to be recalled in the US on certain models built between July 1, 2013 and May 7, 2014. As part of the recall, Harley-Davidson dealers will install cable straps free of charge to prevent the brake hoses from being pinched. Affected models: FLHTK, FLHTKSE, FLHTKSHRINE, FLHTCU, FLHTCUTC, FLHTP, FLHX, FLXHS, FLHXSHRINE, FLHR, FLHRC, FLHP, FLHRSE.
