Carb Sync Question

Can someone explain to me what syncing your carbs is and why/when someone would have to do this. I plan on shimming my carb needles and removing the snorkel and am just wondering if i should be familiar with carb syncing because i will apparently have to fine tune my idle mixture screws.

If there is a DIY on carb syncing, could you please post the link. I have been searching the threads and can not seem to find one.

Thanks!

you should sync your carbs when they are out of sync.

normally, syncing is done after you have the valves adjusted or when you are having weird, pulsing problems at idle. Normally not needed when shimming needles... where did you read that it was needed?

have you searched the DIY threads for syncing?
