Sold the ninjette, got a monster.

First, I'll start by saying " "

I racked up about 12,500km on my ninjette between the end of March and mid July. I got to the point where I was riding the bike to its full potential through the twisties and more often than not found myself passing 600's and 1000's (mostly the Starbucks to Starbucks variety of rider) and keeping hot on the heels of good riders while doing so.

I decided it was time to move up and with a total of 20k km (the other 7500km is from riding 500's) under my belt I got a wild idea to go and get this:

2006 ZX-10R.

I should mention that I put aboot two thousand clicks on an EX-500 (running the piss out of it) before getting the ZX10-R. I didn't find it a terrible jump and as long as you have the slightest amount of throttle and self control, it's a wonderful bike.

I have yet to bring the front end up, and I damn well hope it stays that way.

I also cannot wait to pick up another Ninjette later on. The ninjettes are a different kind of fun

Don't count on that.

Very nice looking bike! Makes me want to move up to a 600 or 636.

Uhh... That's a ZX-10R not a Ducati Monster. I think you got bamboozled dude!

Also, I'm pretty sure having the front end come up on a 1000 isn't optional. That's why I got a 600, it at least gives me a little choice in the matter! +1 on the 500, I love mine

Congrats. Although I will say that you will likely have a harder time in the tighter stuff with the 10r, more so because it was one of the worst handling motorcycles I have ever owned.

I would highly recommend replacing the front brake calipers (if not the entire front brake system) considering 06/07 10r's are notoriously known for numb, wood like front brakes.

Now don't get me wrong, the 10r is a nice bike but it does have more flaws than others in its category.

Unfortunately, the yellow made me sick, just not my thing and yes it is a factory color (Solar Yellow) which turns orange depending on how the light hits it.

It's in the process of undergoing a color change via a vehicle wrap. Pics to come.
