Most are trials style bikes for kids under 8, but this 24.0 is fit for adult trials training while not annoying the neighbors. (Triumph Motorcycles/)In July 2021, Triumph Motorcycles announced the development of motocross and enduro bikes as the British brand looked to expand outside of its modern standard, adventure, roadster/supersport, and cruiser lineups. The Hinckley firm recently brought in some legendary names to help develop the prototypes, including MX GOAT Ricky Carmichael and five-time enduro world champion Iván Cervantes. No initial development is needed; rather, Triumph announced the acquisition of Oset Bikes, a UK-based company catering to new generations of motorcyclists through its seven-bike lineup of off-road electric platforms, including trial bikes. Triumph says the purchase of Oset Bikes helps fuel its core philosophy, “For the Ride,” which is all about inspiring new and experienced riders alike to get out there and ride more. (Triumph Motorcycles/)“We are excited about the opportunity of joining forces with Oset Bikes: a dynamic brand that has been encouraging children into motorcycling for many years and have been at the forefront of developing electric trials bikes for fun and competition,” Triumph CEO Nick Bloor says. “While the two brands will continue working independently, Triumph and Oset will collaborate on new state-of-the-art products to inspire young riders into off-road riding, across the segments that Triumph and Oset will have a presence in, drawing on their respective strengths to build the best bikes in the world.” Related: Triumph Announces Motocross and Enduro Plans Oset was launched in 2004 by Ian Smith, who wanted to build a capable starter bike for his then 3-year-old son Oliver. In its 18th year, Oset has now sold more than 40,000 electric motorcycles in over 25 countries, with each machine featuring Oset’s in-house-developed electric powerplants.
