A sunny Silverstone set the scene for day two of track action after a long summer break and the usual Moto3 routine opened the show. John McPhee’s Friday benchmark sat quietly at the top of the combined timesheets until Tatsuki Suzuki’s final attack, the Japanese rider taking top spot at the chequered flag and inadvertently helping Deniz Öncü into second position. McPhee himself was not too keen to engage in a time attack and ended the morning in a lowly 22nd position but safety inside the top three overall.
