why not just go with high compression pistons instead of boost

The lesson awaiting you, as I understand it, is that it's not the engine's top end strength; pistons, rods, etc., that will limit your quest... instead, it's the bottom end that is a grenade.

Here's a quote from the Wiki of another EX-250 website:

Quote:
Mike Norman at G Force built race motors adhering to production AFM rules, meaning stock exhaust, airbox, and carbs. These developed enough horsepower to easily overwhelm the rather fragile EX250 bottom end. After destroying a large number of cranks and bearings, he eventually (nearly) perfected the process. But they were still small bombs waiting to go off. There is an inherent limit to what you can pump through a Ninja 250, and from hundreds, if not thousands, of dyno runs, we know that number is in the high 30s of rear wheel HP.
good sticky in Huntsville?

no pain no gain... besides tunning bikes is fun, no matter what happens

but seriously... turbo on 250... why not just get stronger bike.. but not because it originaly have more power, but couse engine is stronger and it will last longer if you put turbo on it...

just my opinion... have fun

It probably could. The chassis, suspension and brakes couldn't keep up though.

I've always thought a KX 250 swap would be cool. It shouldn't be too overly powerful. However, that project will be for when I'm rich and have far too much time on my hands.

did you end up building a different clutch for the slipping problems?
