HONDA’S RC213V-S will make its UK debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 26.

The road-going version of Honda’s RC213V MotoGP bike will be ridden up the famous hill-climb course on all three days of the festival from June 26-28, by Honda racers from road racing, World Superbike and MotoGP.

A release just issued by Honda said: ‘Fresh from its official unveiling ahead of last weekend’s Catalunya MotoGP race, Honda’s RC213V-S is set for its next public appearance – at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, to be held in the UK at the end of June.’

Honda finally released its official specs last week, seven months after the machine was revealed as a prototype at the Eicma Milan motorcycle show. In road-legal form it makes 159hp, while a track-only kit boosts the figure to 215hp.

July 13 is when Honda will start taking orders for the bike, which it says is a ‘road legal machine based on the RC213V’ championship-winning MotoGP race bike.

The price has been announced in Germany at €188,000, which is around £135,00 at current exchange rates.

Visordown reported earlier this week how the US-spec machine makes only 101hp in road-legal form, less than a CBR600RR.
