First group ride - June 2nd

On Saturday June 2nd I went on my first group ride with 2 other member of this forum, krolinked and NinjaBoyEddy. We were at first going to head out to Mulloland Dr but ended up going to Angeles Crest Instead which was perfect because that is less than 10 miles away for both krolinked and me. Kro and I headed out first and got some food at the panera near the base of the Crest. After maybe an hour or so NinjaBoy and a friend he brought along showed up and we all talked for a little bit. After the chitchat we headed up the mountain for some amazing twisties. It didn't take long for the crest to turn into the perfect road for motorcycles which is supported by the thousands that ride up there every weekend. There were a few 180 degree turns and a few really tight S shaped turns. But second only to the riding itself were the beautiful views to be had if you take the time to stop. Every corner yielded an adrenaline filled rush plus new awe inspiring sights. Luckily there were only a few cagers trying to spoil our fun, maybe passing lanes are invisible to people in cars. After 26 miles or so we reached the first destination, Newcomb's Ranch, a small bar/restaurant with a little bit overpriced but good food. We didn't go up there to eat though so we hopped back on and kept on riding. The next 14 miles was more of the same awesome roads and sights to see. There was a tunnel maybe 12 miles passed the restaurant and that's when I realised how freakin loud NinjaBoy's exhaust was, danmoto carbon. Right after the tunnel was our main destination a little picnic area nestled right on the ridge of a saddle between two mountains. Although it was a little foggy the view was still breathtaking. We spent maybe 10 minutes just looking out into the valley then decided we should go back because it was getting dark. The ride home was maybe a little more exciting because we were essentialy racing the sun. As we approached the gas station at the bottom of the hill my bike ran out of gas, luckily it was down hill from there and I had the reserve. So we all reached the starting point safely. Speaking for myself I had an amazing time that was only made better by the company of you three and I look forward to the next Ninjette.org meetup.

You could try La Tuna Canyon for your first set of twisties because it's more wavy than twisty. Let me know if your up to it and I'll take you, it's only like a 5-10 minute ride.

I looked at google maps and that seems like hell of a ride, there is even a connecting road between angeles crest and san gabriel canyon.

I'd totally be down for that!

I'll probably have to bring my two fuel bottles for you Juggernaut haha.
Or else you'll get stuck mid canyon!
