[visordown.com] - MV Agusta Dragster RR specs and pictures

MV AGUSTA'S new Brutale 800 Dragster RR gets a 15hp power hike to 140hp, the Italian marque has revealed.

The new higher-spec version of the Brutale 800 Dragster also gets an increase in torque, from to 59.7lbft to 63.4lbft.

MV today gave up trying to keep the new model secret and released the whole brochure to the public online.

It was due to be unveiled at the Eicma Milan motorcycle show next month but pictures were leaked yesterday on Dutch site Nieuwsmotor.nl and specifications were leaked on Indonesian site TMCBlog.com.

The RR uses the same 798cc triple engine as the Dragster 800.

Like the Dragster 800, it's got 43mm upside-down Marzocchi forks with rebound-compression damping and spring preload adjustment, but for the RR they're anodised red.

As we knew, it's been given aluminium spoked wheels. It's also got a steering damper with eight settings.

It's gained the second generation of MV's electronics package, which the firm calls its 'Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System'. It's got traction control with eight settings - like the Dragster 800 - but with a new quick-shifter enabling up-shifts and down-shifts.

Otherwise the specs appear similar to the Brutale 800's, with a steel trellis frame, single-sided swing-arm, Sachs shock and Brembo monobloc brakes with Bosch ABS.

Dry weight is 168kg to the Dragster 800's 167. Claimed top speed remains 153.1mph.

The price is €16,290 (£12,845), compared to the base model's £10,999.

The Dragster RR comes in two new colour schemes, red and white or red and black.

The Brochure says:

'Technology and passion are evident in every component: the 43 mm Marzocchi upside down fork, now 1 kg lighter, combines full adjustability - rebound, compression and spring pre-load - with an evocative, anodized, red finish and enhances smoothness thanks to the DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. The adjustable steering damper, secured to the triple clamp by a hand-finished aluminium element, ensures superb front end performance whatever the riding conditions, whatever your riding style.

The Brutale 800 Dragster RR is made instantly recognisable by the sculptured geometry and spoked wheels. Anodized spoke nipples and machineforged hubs make them lighter, ethereal, and uniquely elegant. Thanks to the large rim channel and the generously dimensioned 200/50 rear tyre, the new Brutale 800 Dragster RR transforms power into acceleration, technology into pure riding pleasure. And like every MV Agusta, it's as attentiongrabbing on the side-stand as it is on the move. Available in two colour schemes: metallic carbon black and pearl red, refined yet predatory; pearl red and pearl white, brawny and brazen.

140 hp squeezed into just 168 kg: this unrivalled power-to-weight ratio allows the Brutale 800 Dragster RR to compete with larger capacity bikes - and win. With the new hydraulic tensioner the three-cylinder power unit amazes with its quietness and even greater reliability. The MVICS 2.0 (Motor&Vehicle Integrated Control System) platform and EAS 2.0 electronic gearbox, also active when downchanging, provide ample scope for personalisation of both engine and ride parameters. The slipper clutch ensures enhanced and safer deceleration by preventing rear wheel lock. Nestled within the tubular steel trellis frame, a flash of red outlines the triple's cylinder head. Rebel at heart.
