My Ninja is a Fart Machine

Here's an interesting one....

'08 Ninja. Kleen air system removed. Pods installed. Custom 2-1 exhaust (piece of junk). Needles shimmed up w/ 3 washers.

Bike starts, idles, and rides fine. Funny thing is...whenever I hit a significant bump in the road my bike lets out a massive backfire. I find it somewhat amusing but its definitely interesting. Anybody got any ideas?

Nope, but I certainly would like to see a video of that!

Sure it's not the rider!

Try rechecking all your seals (pods, carbs), especially on the custom exhaust. Replace the old exhaust gaskets if you have not done so.
The hard bumps may be causing a slight separation.

could it be the side stand safety switch caused by the side stand bouncing

I dont have a side stand safety switch. I jumped it/disabled it a while ago. Plus, its certainly not electrical-electrical would mean the bike cuts in and out after a bumpski rather than running consistently and taking a massive fart after a bump.

I think the exhaust gaskets are the most likely culprit...could be the rider too....
