Nothing wrong with some good classic rock. That is what I grew up on. The Doors, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Zeppelin, etc. Lots of great bands back then.

Some unknown polka band. Sitting by parents pool and grandma blasting the polkas. Those 90 year old kids and their polka music and screaming accordians.

Definately a fan of thsoe guys as well. Along the same line is Russian circles and Red Sparrowes.

On the other hand:
Opeth
Strapping Young Lad
Tool
Carbon Based Lifeforms
and Samael

With the other stuff I have on my MP3 player, anyone who looked at it might just be very confused.

I'm resurrecting an old thread that deserves some more love. I was thinking of starting a "What's on your iPod playlist" thread but I think this is pretty much the same.

What I'm listening to right now:

New stuff:

Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
Adele - 21
Radiohead - The King of Limbs
The Strokes - Angles
Sam Roberts - Collider

Throwback:

Curtis Mayfield - Best Of

Regular rotation:

Thievery Corporation
The Roots
Lupe Fiasco
Massive Attack

Currently listening to Animals as Leaders.

If you haven't heard of them look them up on Youtube. Their guitarist Tosin Abasi is badass.

Come on, no jazz fans here?

I've been digging small group recordings by Duke Ellington and his men.

I also recently discovered Galactic, a funk/jazz/rock band from New Orleans. They're the first of this type of mix that I like.

Does Diana Krall count?

I also listen to Galactic. I think they classify themselves as funk more than anything. Stanton Moore is killer on the drums.
