people touching your helmet

So whenever I ride my bike to work i always put my helmet on my desk. Well everyday it is a different person who comes over and either fingers up the face screen, or just plays around with the vents and buttons on it. Worst of all today this girl comes over and like slams her hand down on top of it like WTF? (wanted to see how hard it was.....). They always get defensive when i tell them not to touch it which pisses me off even more, they act like its just some 40 dollar bicycle helmet not a $400-600 dollar arai.

I'm just going to have to start locking it in my drawer from now on I think.

Get a small 12v battery for trailer breaks. Yes they make super mini 12v battery's. Get some sort of wire mesh to put over the helmet and wait for someone to touch it. I am sure they will learn there lesson then after a few weeks you can remove it and be safe and confident that no one will want to go near your desk. So at the same time your helmet and all your pens and pencils are safe. I do this with my TPS report cover sheets.

"That helmet costs X. It is designed to protect me in the case of an accident. There is some very advanced technology that goes into modern motorcycle helmets. It is not like a football helmet or a bicycle helmet. I don't want people messing it up. It could cause it to be less effective and put me in more danger."

Maybe you need to place a sign above the helmet which reads "Do not touch the helmet. I do not touch your personal things so please do not touch mine!!!" If that doesn't work then do what Myke suggested.

I do tell people to not touch but it seems like everyday a new person comes up and fiddles with it.

I decided to just put it in my drawer and not worry about it, seem like that's the best bet

Telling people to not touch your helmet can get irritating, since a different person comes up every day. Just put it in its bag and or in a drawer.

Many people want to try it on aswell, especially girls and people who don't know nothing about motorbikes, sometimes its comical, but most of the times it just plain annoying.

I smack them.

My bicycle helmet ran me $200. Not all bicycle helmets are the $30 Walmart specials.

Just put a big red button next to it; they'll want to touch it instead and probably never see the helmet.
