Stupid bike crashed me

Well it happened, I stacked the bike.

I was going around a 15mph double apex corner @ 40mph, made the first apex, however I didnt do to well on the 2nd, ran wide and slammed the bike into a barrier.
I wont over the rail and down a hill, in full racing gear.
I wasnt hurt, one small bruise. However the bike did not turn out to well.

Pics below:

DAMN! What's the insurance situation? I see that the A-Tech hugger didn't take much damage, but considering the rest of the bike, that's not much consolation.

Glad you are OK.

Ouch, glad to hear you weren't badly hurt.

The bike looks messed up hard. You insured mate and what are you planning on doing now with the bike and all?

The Yoshi stills look pretty good, untouched?

I don't think he was asking if anyone has laid claim to it. He's asking if it was "touched" in the accident because it looks unscathed.

Bit of both, seeing that I'm going to get my bike this month

But in all seriousness, the bike is pretty much written off?

thanks for your comments guys.

I was heading down the hill on my way to Wollombi, I went down on Lemmings corner.
Hit the rail just after the last arrow, you can see my dent.
For some lucky reason I got thrown of the bike before it hit the rail, I rekon I highsided from throwing the brake on in a panic after pulling the bike up quickly.

I'm only 3rd party fire and theft insured, so I got to pay for it myself.
The damage looks bad due to all the fairing's are damaged, otherwise the bike is fairly ok.
The generator cover smashed, the coil is ok, snapped handle bar, gear shifter bent, clutch and brake lever snapped, rear hugger smashed on left side and tail tidy kit bent in every way shape and form.

Total cost to fix OEM is Aus$2500
Total cost to fix OEM/ Sportisi is $1800

So got a dent in the wallet and ego, otherwise I cant wait to get the bike back on the road.
Except I will leave the fast riding for on the track, don't like double bubble barrier's.

Egad man! Really glad you're okay physically & mentally. The bike does look cosmetically chewed up, but as you said, looks like the fairings did their job & protected the interiors fairly well. You're either lucky or smart for having avoided that sign too.

In the US theft coverage is usually a subset of collision/uninsured motorist coverage, which is what covers you if you run into a tree or something (not like the tree/fence/wall has insurance). Are you sure your policy doesn't do the same thing?

That cost is very hefty. I am wondering if you would be better off buying onother bike and either selling the usable parts or using it as a spare parts bike. How much would a new bike cost?

A new 2010 250R over here would cost around $7500-8500. But seeing that he's in NSW, they charge a little more than down here in Victoria so should be around the $8000-8500 mark.

Yeah I know the corner well, however I was chasing and didnt think about it.
Stupid me.

Even If I did make that corner the next corner would have put me in the wall.

I checked and my bike is not covered unfortunantly.
Buying a new bike would be a very costly experience, $3000 max is ok, as I can sell the bike when fixed for $6500

Das is da bike who be makn ze crash!
Thats how I feel. ha ha

Yeah I laughed pretty much strait away after the accident, when my rider mate said "You crashed on Lemmings".

Lemmings corner is know for taking out riders, so most of us who know about it try go easy on the corner.
My stupid fault for not seeing the 2 sign's LEMMING CORNER and a 25km(15mph) slow down.

Anyways I will have a whole new approach on the rd now. Leave it for the track.

Wow, pretty awesome you went over the railing or your leggs coulda been pinched, or if you cleared that and hit the wall on the other side. . .OUCH! Doing the superman sucks, but hella better in this case than the alternatives. Think maybe you jumped and just don't remember it?

Can ya' take any pics of your riding clothes? I'd love to see what kind of shape your helmet and other stuff is in. Yeah yeah, I'm kinda ghoulish like that.

Poor poor bike though. /sob But really, I'm suprised at how little actuall damage is done to the bike. It looks like mainly cosmetic stuff other than the handlebars yeah?

Are Aussie dollars about double the USA dollar, or are bikes just REALLY expensive down under?

Well, glad you're ok and not a Martyr.

Oh hey, ever thought of going streetfighter with it? That'd greatly reduce repair costs I bet! Or even better, go Rat-Rod! I've never seen a Ninjette Ratted before!

Quite a bit less than double but with the higher price of certain imported goods it may work out to being double. It's been dropping and getting much closer recently. The US $4,300 MSRP for his new 2010 comes out to $4,796.3503120416278589873008259761 AUD in a direct currency conversion, but that's not what is going on here. If you checked it last year, it would have been a very different story. Heck, even February of this year would have been $6,634.427.

While the currency conversion fluctuates wildly like this, average prices do not. For example, the average $60USD video game remains $100AUD.
