throttle mod woes
Hey guys, after doing the throttle mod using 1 ziptie, I am now limited to a top speed of 80 mph and I think the RPMs don't go over 10-11k. Also, I didn't really feel a noticable response... weird. Any ideas? Do I need adjust the cables on the carb end?

That's wierd. The ziptie mod should only affect how much twist it needs to get to WOT. Is anything binding? I had trouble with even just 1 zip tie so I ended up leaving it stock. Check freeplay, and binding. If nothing is out of place, remove the zip tie and see if it returns to stock and work from there.

Yeah, I think so... at wot it hit's the plate stopper on the carb.
Hm... guess I'll remove it and see. It binds when I turn the handlebars right, but not when the bars are centered or to the left. |

I found that the cables arent really long enough because if you play with the cable that leads into that plastic adjustment knob (not sure why they used plastic when everything else is metal) you can get a little extra slack to make it so it doesnt bind. I ended up removing it because the I couldnt get it stop binding and it wasnt worth the risk. It's possible the cable was routed differently between bikes and so some people might have a little more space.
Be careful because I broke that plastic thing: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=70537 |

I can't get the zip tie to work either. It's wierd because with no cables attached the tie doesn't bind. With only one cable attached (either one) it doesn't bind. Only with both cables on will it hang up.
