rubber o-rings? heat?
hey guys, kind of a generic question... i need to replace an o-ring in my cooling system that crys at night when it shrivels up from the cold, and i'm wondering if any o-ring that fits will work? obviously the cooling system gets pretty hot so do i need a specific type of rubber o-ring? is there a difference in the type of rubber in the orings in cooling systems? how hot can "normal" rubber o-rings get? i know next to nothing about rubber...
i was looking at these because i don't feel like paying for expensive oem parts... what do you guys think? any advice you guys can offer is really appreciated. link: http://www.lowes.com/pd_174792-72906...ing&facetInfo=

Well, the ones in our oil filter cap and bolt have to take a bit of heat too. I'm guessing it have to be galvanized like tire rubber or something.
