SlingShot Racing Carbon Fiber Parts on my Tricked out Ninja 300
Hello to All,
Today I got to be the first person with the new SSR carbon fiber for the Ninja 300. My bike has a ton of aftermarket, so carbon fiber only adds to the beauty of the bike. They have a number of my orignal parts and plan to do other carbon fiber pieces, stay tuned. Here is what I do know, they have in production: Carbon Fiber Side Air Box Pieces Left & Right Carbon Fiber Rear Hugger Carbon Fiber Side Panels Left & Right Carbon Fiber Side Cowling Left & Right Carbon Fiber Tank Surround Left & Right Carbon Fiber Lower Fairings Left & Right (bellypan) Still waiting for it to come in to put on Carbon Fiber Upper Cowling (below windsreen) (They made this one for me, don't know if they are going to put it in production) Carbon Fiber Front Inner cowling (by radiator) Still waiting for it to come in to put on Enjoy the pictures, I know I do. Its always nice to add carbon fiber but not digging your exhaust, white wheels, white brake lines, and mirror. Thumbs up on the Ohlins though

I like the white wheels. They really make up for the extra black from the CF parts. It keeps the same balance of black/white that the stock bike had.
My suggestion is some blue wheel tape to match the blue bikerz parts. |

Plastic parts - Carbon fiber parts = little or no weight savings.

^^ exactly.
David, check with your insurance. Are you able to add value from accessories to your comprehensive coverage? It would suck to get in an accident and have to pay for all that carbon fiber and Ohlins out of your pocket. Also, when you do your bixenon install, are you going to paint the oem reflectors black and the shrouds white so the headlights match the black/white motif? |

Better yet, to make sure most of your accessories are covered you should give me your Ohlins. Pleaseeeeeee.

Also, I'm wire in a relay and switch so I can run my LED halo as my DRL and then turn on my bixenon when I need a headlight. Are you going that route or are you going to have both the LED's and bixenons on all the time?
and paint the white parts taxi-cab yellow!! Yellow/white + black CF panels + white wheels = |

I have dual halos wired to my DRL that come on when the bike starts up.The headlights will be setup to turn on when I flip the high beam switch.

Why not just put a small auxiliary switch on the bars or dash to control a relay which sends power to DRL's instead of headlights? Then you'll have full on/off and high/low control of your headlight. |

I am not doing high/low control over the headlights they will both be on at the time, just in a lower beam setup that is more than bright enough. My projectors are different from the BK Moto projectors I have a custom way of wiring it that I like better for my application. I have it wired like this on my Ninja 250R as well.

So you're not planning on wiring in the solenoid at all? It's just going to leave the cut-off gate flipped up the whole time? Then you don't have distance vision at night.
low beam. Cut-off gate up: high beam. Solenoid powered and cut-off gate dropped: You want high beams so you don't outrun your headlight. |

Since you seem to have their ear, can you ask them a few questions?
Why no CF stator cover for the 250J? Can they make an engine cover option with less gloss? How about a large fitted carbon tank protector like a half-tank bra? |

I was just there today to drop some other parts off. We talked about a full carbon tank protector but they dont like the idea of mounting it with double sided tape and if it adds bulk to the lines of the bike. They have a prototype of the stator cover that works for both the 250R & 300. I am getting one when it comes in. The less gloss option I will ask them about. What I did on one of my carbon fiber fenders from my 250R was sand off the gloss and it gave the fender a matte finish.

I will take a picture and post it tomorrow. Mine turned out fine, but because someone backed into my front fender I am going to paint the whole thing so you don't see the spider cracks. I would start with 1000 grit sand paper see how to like it then continue to go down in grit until you like how matte the finish is. |

Thanks to all for the great comments. Just wanted to let everyone know that the SSR carbon fiber rear hugger is 4 inches longer than the original, which makes it more functional.

That's cool, but they still need to make one with an integrated swingarm cover purely for cosmetic purposes, A-Tech style.

I really want a setup like that. My projector and halo isn't nearly as visible as that because of my stupid pregen fluted lens. |

The carbon and lights look sick. But there are alot of tasteless mods on the bike. But this is just my personal opinon, and it is not my bike.
