She actually did really well! Only stalled it three times.

As far as the new bike thing, it's a really good learning bike for her. The thing only weighs 225 lbs ready to ride. It's almost like riding a bicycle with a motor in it. Also, the way Honda designed it, not much damage will be done from a low speed drop. In a lot of ways this thing is setup like a dual-sport. It's entirely covered in dual-sport like plastics. Whole fairing kits can be had for $200 online! Realistically though, it's a cheap bike and I'll just live with some scratches.

It's a grom. pull the turn signals and mirrors off and it's nearly bulletproof in a <5 mph tip over.

Glad she got out and got some time practicing. Good for you for enabling!

Pretty much.

I think the biggest concern is maybe the exhaust.

Already bought a new can, but I'm gonna be honest, I'm nervous to put it on.

Glad the fiancé is doing so well!

St. Benji, it's a good idea to wait a while to install the new can.

The Grom looks like a lot of fun. Heck, you're making me think about looking for a used Grom one of these next few winters!

The GROM discussion brought back a bit of a memory.

In 1976, I bought a new Yam RD400 in the olive green. Sitting beside it was a similar colored RD60. Had to get a package deal. I think the RD60 was about $425 or so. Single seat with cafe tail. 16 inch wheels as I recall. Top speed of about 55. It was not very practical, but great fun around intown Atlanta. In about 1978, my car mechanic begged me to sell it to him well after they were out of production and unavailable. As of a very few years ago he still had it.

Precursor of GROM.

That's awesome! I found one of these at a dealer earlier in the year.

I had to really resist going home with it.

Against my better thinking I put my new exhaust on today.

BRAAAAAP

I love the super epic pictures and videos of Grom's swarming (and I say swarming in the most endearing way possible) the dragon.

They look so stupid and yet so much fun. I want one!!!!!

Those bikes are super sleek little entry level bikes. I would love one but I cannot justify the cost when my full sized bikes I pick up for a fraction of the cost of a grom.

I lust over the grom like I used to over the Ruckus

spunky little devils

Enjoy, congrats on teaching the wifey how to live the biker life!
