250 Tips needed here @*^%! 300

I feel so out of touch since everyone seems to be moving up to the 300 ... Nevertheless I have a technical question I am thinking of squeezing more pickup out of my '12 250 without losing a lot of top end... I was thinking a bigger rear sprocket as well as a slight size adjustment on the front sprocket... I already got the K&N Air filter and a Two Brothers Exhaust ( just the slip-on) and a smaller light battery. What else can I do to get that o-so needed highway pickup so that I'm not fighting for a position on the on ramp with a Chevy Cruz or Aveo ... :-/ (Shoulda held out for the 300 ...)

Headers, your slip on and k&n do nothing without opening up the exhaust.

As a point, my bike went from 25hp to 31hp with a full system and k&n pod filter
