PSA - Check your engine covers.

Dropped a shim down the timing chain channel tonight. F**K! I fished around with a magnet for a bit with no luck so had to pull the cover. The two bolts that attach the clutch cable hanger were reasonably tight but all of the others were way loose. Not quite so loose that I could have gotten them out without a wrench but almost. Checked the the other side and most were about the same.

Pretty sure they had never been removed by the PO. So they were torqued during assembly and the gaskets settled a bit?

I have an '08 with 8,300 miles on it. In the midst of air box removal/rejet/sprocket swap and checked this yesterday. With an 8mm nut driver, the left side cover was reasonably loose, as in I could tighten the bolts with little or no force. Not sure of torque spec, but I would say they needed to be tighter. Will follow up with torque spec if I can find one.

Thanks~
