New member introduction

Hey all. I'm new to the board, so I figured I should start out by making my introductions and saying hello to everyone.

I ride an 07 Ninja 250 that I brought back to life about two years back. (I'm a sucker for wounded machines) Little did I know, adopting a bike that came in trash bags would transform me from a hardcore car nut to a rabid bike nut - I just figured it would be a fun project...

Since then, I live and breath bikes, and work around motorcycles as a result. I figured joining the forums would help keep me from boring the Mrs with incessant bike talk, and maybe I can help people out here and there, and get a helping hand now and then as well.

I look forward to meeting everyone!

Neglect mostly. She was dropped at lower speeds, and the previous owner got a bit spooked with it I suppose, so they let her sit with a near empty tank for about a year in the snow/rain.

The fuel tank had started to rust inside, so they filled it with ball bearings and sloshed it around a while to remove the rust, then rinsed it with water to wash away the rust... ()

The carbs had a thick coat of varnish and gunk on pretty much every interior surface from being left with fuel in them, so they had to be pulled apart and soaked/cleaned before it would even idle.

When I picked her up, she was a naked frame and about 12 black trash bags of parts. I think we made our connection somewhere around the 4th day of cleaning the fuel tank out

wow. really warm welcome thanks all

It was a learning experience for sure, but also a great bonding experience. Regardless of what ends up in my stable over the years, there will always be room for her.
