Fixing my laid bike.

Hey everyone. Some of you have commented and read about my bike getting wrecked by a "friend" of mine recently, but I've been trying to rebuild and make something out of it. I bought new pegs, bar ends, levers, and some other bits, and sanded down a lot of the exhaust on the right side where it was horrible looking. I also figured I might as well balance the color and put some on that mesh up front.

Please be honest with me, as right now this is kind of a trial. I picked red because it was something different and I was persuaded by my girlfriend who seemed to really like the idea (and still does). I can't really tell if I like them tbh. It's "unique", but I'm not so sure in the best way lol. I also painted the chain guard. Let me know what you think guys/girls. I'm just trying to put lipstick on a pig at this point :/

it looks awesome in the front but it's way too much in the back if you ask me

Yeah the front looks sweet. Back is too much though. Maybe break up the red exhaust with some black. Then red behind it?

Front is great I'd keep the chain guard and black the the big red exhaust but in all it is a good idea to try something new while fixing ur baby up

Agree with the above....too much in the back but the front is sweet. I think you should tone down the back or maybe add some more red to the front to balance it out. Then again, it is your bike so if you like it that's all that matters

I would paint the exhausts black and keep the red chain guard.
Or vice versa.

hmm, all good points guys. I also feel like it's TOO MUCH red. I've been riding literally all day (burnt like hell lol), but after almost 24 hours of looking at it, I think I'll try black soon (on the exhaust). Maybe that'll tone down it's loudness.

On another note though, I had a TON of people looking at it/staring. Idk if that's good or bad, but I didn't have that nearly as much before.

Nice finish, but the red muffler clashes with the black. It might look better if you added some stripes or flames or "Ninja" decals to the front to try and distract people from looking at the back.

I really like the red mufflers, but if you don't like them...don't worry. The paint won't stay that color very long on the mufflers.

Love the red up front but like many people said, the red exhaust is too much. How did you paint it, spray paint? How much is a used exhaust from someone's part out? Probably <$40 You might as well just replace it

EDIT: or not even a partout, someone that bought a full exhaust or slip on for their bike will probably sell you their exhaust for cheap

Too much red in the back. Paint some other parts red that are insignificant, so that you can complement the other front red part. Nice bike by the way
