Make your own rim strips!
I'm thinking about using the coloured duct tape and just cutting out little pieces to stick around the rim...
any suggestions to make this work efficiently or how to cut it out well? I saw a video on youtube awhile back but it has now been removed. when you need it most it disappears

iirc rim tape isn't that expensive.. And probably less messy and more reflective.

+1 for less messy, duct tape adhesive dries out eventually and leaves a holy mess. Also the proper rim tape is usually pre-curved

And more importantly, reflective.

Reflective tape is only like $16 on eBay. They are Orr cut and very easy to install. Definitely worth the money.

This is like putting duct tape pinstripes on a suit. You can go for it but we told you so....

Just don't go too cheap on actual rim tape, damn orange stuff on my bike keeps turning yellow luckily there was enough surplus to cut my own ghetto replacement strips, which have began to fade already. Only on the right side though, left side is barely faded at all, must be the way I park or something. Accents on my tank have faded as well
