I like when girls kiss girls!

uh anyways. I'm not too huge on the looks myself. I love the way the current new gens look!

An 06'+ r6 is the sexiest bike out there imo. If Yamaha made a small placed bike that looked like an r6, or close too one I'd jump ship!

And like what was said, if the USA gets this I cant wait to see what Honda will try and do. I hope they do something!

edit: Jiggles you work for AT&T? me too! were you a sales rep?

I like the new wheels. They look similar to the ones on the cbr1000rr and would be really sharp in gold with the white or green bikes

This one should be making the same top end as the carby 08 model according to the indo guys on the other thread. I'm ok with that. Once area p and Leo Vince come out with new systems and PC maps, it should be a rocket.

now yall know how us 88-07 riders feel when you rub those curvy sexy beautiful 08's in our faces not the best looking thing in town anymore.

Why it suck:
- if only it uses battlax tyres
- if only it got aluminium swingarm and chassis.
- these 250 bikes already reach what is legally allowed on a learner bike.
Should compete in weight instead with maximum power retained
(miss those NSR, RGV, TZR, and KR250.. 130 kg with acceleration that embarass any SS). 170 kg? Meh.
- I just got my 2011 and this baby comes out.

1) other tires fit on the time also
2) if they went with a different frame, it would have cost more
3) so isn't it good that it's the most you're allowed? Fastest bike for a beginner without spending more money on upgrades.

32 hp on 170 kg vs 32 hp on 130 kg is different..

Anyway just contribute to the thread. I know if I prep the bike for track day, using lightweight race can and airbox delete, racing bodywork and clip ons, a bit chopping here and there, 140+ kg should be achievable.

The standard also gets 1 kg increase. 1 kg = 2 lbs right?

1 pound is 0.453 kg. So 1 kg is 2.2 lbs. Only gaining 2.2 lbs is pretty good when there's a remodel.

I actually like the exhaust, but I agree with you on most everything else, @Jiggles. While it looks closer to the hideous CBR 250 exhaust, it doesn't have that horrible trumpet-flare that I hate about it.

I especially hate the front view. Say what you will about the "cartoon eyes" on the J/K-series, but at least it wasn't some giant jagged monstrocity. Personally, I like divided lights, but I'd prefer something like the the Ducati 1198 or, as far as Kawi goes, the 2005/6 or 2007/8 ZX6R. Part of what makes the front end so ugly is this hinged/floating windscreen design that doesn't flow with the fairing. It's a throw-back to the '80s designs, even if they are much more aerodynamic than those were. One of the best ways to update the pregen design is to turn part of that windscreen into a fairing like the J/K series, so this is kind of a step backwards.

If they don't sell the FI model here, I don't see how the TBs will be any easier to get than the K-series TBs.

Why would CA not get ABS?

Tires? I agree, but that's only why it's worse than specifically a 2008 EX250J. The rim design is strangely off-putting. It looks like a spider-magnet. I like the hard-to-clean design we have currently. The front looks smaller and I haven't heard one single mention of the front tire spec, so I have a feeling that they are hiding that because it really did shrink.

The frame just looks like someone forgot that they were trying to hide it. Even though they added a fake frame design in the fairings, they got rid of the black side covers and opted for some small side fairings that expose the frame and airbox. They even styled the exhaust hanger/passenger peg bracket like it was meaty structure because it was meant to be seen and then they attached it to a dinky tubular frame. The same part completely covered the exposed part of the frame on the J/K models even though the attachment point was a tab!

I highly doubt it. 110/70/17 tires are widely available and dirt cheap. Anything narrower gets less available and more expensive. I'd wager that the tire sizes are the same as the CBR. 110/70/17 front, 140/70/17 rear.

(Personally though I'm hoping this bike, regardless of price prompts a bit more competition between Honda and Kawasaki leading to price decreases and quality increases. But I'll be buying a current gen or pre gen anyhow so I suppose for the time being it makes no difference)
Personally, I hope the prices go up for the new model. It'll keep our resale value high on the 08-12. On the downside, it looks like it'll put me out of my small business. doh!

i love my 2012, but in all honesty, i would have bought a 600 if it wasnt for the price. that being said, i think this bike will still sell a lot. the price is higher, but with the new, more aggressive body style, and the digital gauges, it will attract a alot of people. but for that price, i would have gone with a six-hundo

just an excuse to buy a 2013 in the name of "R&D"

Just keep making stuff for the 08-12 and then make the same stuff (or new stuff, depending on what we do/dont like about the 13) for the new bike. Twice as much product

Yore dueng et rong!

New product: Figure out how to adapt the wiring harness so that we can use its gauge on a J-series, make it plug & play, then profit. You know, little things like making out combined "turn signal on" indicator flash both of it's indicators. FWIW, I don't think K-bikes have a fuel sender.

I think that the hand-hold areas under the seat (if that's what they are) would be a perfect place for flush turn signals in the tail, especially when using a seat cowl (no passenger).

I know you probably can't fab something like that, but the Asian markets will likely make lenses and then you can sell everything else.

I don't even want the new bike and yet I have a lot of ideas. I want to see replacement passenger peg/exhaust hanger brackets that eliminate the passenger pegs and cover/hide the exposed frame.

From that angle of the red 250, reminds me of the CBR250R...I like the older one (ninja 250). So, now that we can't call it the 'new-gen'...it's technically the 3rd gen right and the one above is the 4th gen?

forget the whole Gen thing! Its confusing because there's so many variants of the 250, some of them in overlapping years! Just use the model years or letter designations

Haha. The gauge idea would be neat, but not possible. The new gauge will be based off the new ecu. It has a digital speedo and assorted features that will make use of the FI. I can't imagine kawi not sending the FI here since they redesigned it to compete with the cbr250. Anyways, I highly doubt the FI ECU will work on the carb bikes, which means the gauge cluster won't likely work either.

The bike won't need flushmounts on the front and even the rear turn signals look badass.

I'll see how business does next year. I may pick up the customled tail light for the 2013 model.

It looks fine to me. The wheels aren't ideal, but nothing to really cry over.

I'm glad it's fuel injected and the instrument panel is finally on par with the CBR250R. And the rear fender doesn't even look that bad, I couldn't be bothered to chop it off.

It's just a matter of how much more it's going to cost. Maybe I'll buy a used '08-12, become better at riding, resell it and buy a new '13 lol

I like the new bike.
First of all the top end power is down so I don't have to wory about it going faster than me.

Also everyone will be selling there 08~12 250 ninjas. That will flood the market with parts I need .
I am not likening the new engine. The case with the big oil pan may or may not be able to handle serous mods . We will see. The block is all aluminum. That means if I blow a piston I need to sleeve the block . The current block is steel sleeve and I can hone the cylinder as long as there is no scratch.
I like the wheels. They look slick enough. The body however is not very aerodynamic. Better than we have now but still a fashion statement.
O and I want a green one :-)

i'm also not sure if i like the sleeveless block.
seems like it would withstand less cylinder pressure.
