Won't "run right", won't idle, choke only, etc?? - SOLUTION HERE

Seems to be tons & tons of posts about this. If your bike sits for any period of time, and ran find before it say. .....ie- a couple weeks to a couple months, you could have this issue. Please, do not just dump some miracle fuel additive in! & please, don't rush your bike to a dealer! What you have to do is a little time consuming, & you may learn a few new cuss words on the way.....but you can do it!!!

Simple: remove your carbs, (there's tons of how to's out there & YouTube videos!), & spray out your pilot jets. I prefer just replacing them.....their cheap, & I know their clean!

Throw it back together & get back to burnouts & wheelies!
Ok.....maybe not?! How about commuting & great gas mileage?

Now do eet!

thanks for posting this....all these posts before searching is starting to really get irritating...we should have one sub topic strictly for exhausts while we're at it. those posts are getting pretty annoying too

When I bought my first ninja 250 it was a wreck with 21 miles on it. I did everything to try to get it to run properly. I put a muzzy on it and pods so I took it to a shop for them to fix. It cost me 600 dollars. I put in a dyno jet kit but the kit only had main jets. The shop said it needed pilot jets. I did a massive search on the Internet to try to find ONE word on pilot jets. There was nothing.

After working in an Aprilia dealership and fixing dozens of scooters that had to come in not running after the winter. Pilot jets 99% of the time . I use a micro drill set and use the smallest one to drill the jets clear.

Ethanol from the gas starts atracting water. The water corrodes the brass jet . It's not like a little piece of dirt finds its way in to the jet. The jets close up . Replacing them is the best bet.

Kelly tried to put together a clear DIY that addresses this way back when:

Wahhhh!!! My Bike Won't Start/Run/Idle... Can Someone Help!!???

There is still great info in that thread. Unfortunately, it's one of the ones that still has missing pictures. If anyone is going through this cleaning process and can take appropriate pictures along the way, please get in touch with me and I can re-insert the right pics directly in line with the recommended steps.
