The stock ones fail. Not often but they do fail sometimes. I would suggest a manual one from APE. http://zxzone.com/tensioners.html

Well I need another one becase I stripped the short 10mm screw. It's holding.now. but not relying on it much longer. The stock one is kind of a Bicht to put back jap you have to twist it and what not. Lol I ennded up cutting my self with the little metal washer . Look at the link it mentions why a Manuel one might be better...

If you stripped the threads for the cap screw then just stick a dime over it with some hi-temp RTV liquid gasket. That's what I did.
