Interesting turn signal design

I came across this kickstarter earlier today and thought you guys might find it interesting.

This could probably go in a Farkles section but I wasn't sure which one. Alex, feel free to move it if need be.

They don't seem too visible in the daylight...

That was my first thought too. Maybe that's just the way it seems on camera or something, but I'd definitely want to make sure they were bright enough before purchasing them. Regardless, it's still an interesting project.

I know somebody here has the Oberon bar end indicators... @Risky perhaps? I really wanted to get them a while back, but put those on hold. I like these better with the 360 degree visibility. Brightness is definitely an issue. Kickstarter is awesome for these kinds of cool projects.

Cool idea, but that'd be an expensive thing to break if the bike tipped over.

Looks cool in design and useless in practice.

They would be something I wouldn't mind installing in addition to my current turn signals, but these along wouldn't be very noticeable at all (day or night).

I like to see peoples ideas come to fruition so I wish them luck and hope to see something like this affordable in the near future. I'd just worry people would think these alone would be safe enough.

Fine print states that they won't sell them to 250 owners due to the high amount of crashes, which would just rip them off the bar ends.

He didn't mention anything about the lenses being DOT approved.

2/10 would not buy

I've never seen any replacements that were unless they were OEM signals adapted from another bike.

Yeah, the price is pretty outrageous. I don't think I would be interested in them either simply because they don't look bright enough, and they'd be the first thing to break in any sort of crash. But I do like his initiative and think he has potential to make some really cool products.

Every bike shop I've been to has a set of generic looking DOT-approved turn signals for about $35/pair.
