[visordown.com] - Revised Triumph Tiger Explorer spied

The current Tiger Explorer

THIS is the revised Triumph Tiger Explorer, spotted undergoing tests this week in Barcelona.

The spy shot shows Triumph’s big adventure model has been given styling tweaks plus new forks and brakes.

The beak makes a straighter line than the current model's while the bodywork either side of the tank appears to extend further forward. The screen also looks to have changed, with two new small sections added either side of the main screen. A new screen frame is visible and the current model’s thumb adjusters, positioned above the indicators, are gone. It could point to greater screen adjustability in the facelifted model.

The absence of indicators on the test mule clearly suggests the styling is a work in progress, though.

Elsewhere, new forks carry Brembo Monobloc brake calipers, which are already found on BMW’s R1200GS, instead of the current Tiger Explorer’s Nissins.

The updated 1215cc triple Triumph was being tested alongside an R1200GS with BMW’s Electronic Suspension Adjustment. That could point to the Explorer getting the Triumph Electronic Suspension system currently found on its big tourer, the Trophy.

The revised Tiger Explorer is likely to be a 2016 model.
