My knee pads are like shin pads

I'm short and overweight, sooo pants that fit my waist are too long for my legs. 34 waist x 28 length are my perfect pant size.

Any suggestions for a solid pair of pants that would help this predicament? Maybe a pair of pant that gives good protection without knee pads??

Separate knee and shin armor with kevlar jeans?

Start thinking of protection as a system instead of a single garment.

A pair of armor shorts, knee/shin guards and pants that won't shred the moment you hit pavement and I'd think you'd be as well protected as anyone can expect to be.

This. I just don't expect loose fitting, badly-placed armor to do much. I wear the Knox Cross (long) knee guards, and the Dianese Hard Armor Shorts under my riding pants. It's true that it's not perfectly comfy or convenient, but it's really not that bad.

If you're set on having it all in one piece, Competition Accessory's 'Slider' pants can be ordered with various weight/length combinations, and those pants have pockets for armor in them. Good luck.

Some pants have large enough armor pockets, with Velcro pads in several locations, to allow movement of the pads to suit your leg length. My "Shadow Scorcher 2" mesh pants (from Competition Accessories) have this feature.

There was a picture in another thread where you put stick on velcro on the knee armor to keep it at the highest setting. @setasai

Personally, I like Rev it gear as there is an adjustable waist band and the pants come in a long or short variety. Have you tried Scuderia on Duboce? There is a rider there that knows the products well and helped a lot when I went. I don't remember his name, but he was flamin' if you know what I mean.

I'm also quite short and I like my revit overpants because they have a velcro strap at the bottom to secure the pant legs so they won't drag. I took out the armor that comes with the pants and wear forcefield strap-on armor underneath instead. Sometimes I'll wear armored shorts underneath as well.

im having a similar problem. In pants im a 32/30 or 33/30

The problem Ive noticed with the "short" pants is that then the calf area is HUGE.

The rev it pants have an adjustable calf, as Rebecca mentioned. I'm trying not to sound like an advertisement, but I wear them every ride and they are great.

I think it applies to textile pants, not leather.

I wear these: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-airwave-pants

Sadly yes, I thought we were talking about textiles? The textiles have an adjustable width.

Look on the bright side: since you need less material, an leather alteration shop may be a great option.

Yeah im thinking I guess it would be easier to get some width out of the legs rather than length... right?

Well, it depends on what the shop says, but I am sure they can more easily cut off material than sew on more.

yeah well i just figure since there is already a pretty big slit in the legs they could lengthen it with a longer zipper or something to take more out of it.. idk Im not a seamstress but that made sense to me.

I'm slim and short, kinda on the same boat. I decided to go with some action shorts and knee/shin guards separately. Probably throw on some kevlar lined jeans... whatever I find at MotoGP this Sun.

Try Helimot in Fremont. I think they do custom leathers.
