Clip ons or Rear Sets?

I only have enough money for one of them right now. Which one makes a bigger difference for comfort during rides?

I think that's a trick question... both give a more agressive stance... so that may or may not = comfort. I have clip ons and love them... I've been planning to get rear sets forever and haven't yet... so I guess my vote is for clip ons first

Well I do a TON of freeway riding and I don't have an aftermarket windscreen. I find myself in full tuck position 95% of the time.

With this being said, in full tuck position, which would make a bigger difference, rear sets or clip ons?

Comfort is defined by the individual. My ninjette was comfortable but I was looking for a more aggressive riding position.
I installed Woodcraft clip-ons and love them.

A group buy is going on for rearset adapters which will place the pegs in a more aggressive position like aftermarket rearsets.

Clip-ons, and get A+L rearset adjusters. There's a GB going on now. 20% off I think.

After reading this my vote is for a double bubble windscreen. Or even a sport touring screen if you can get past the fact that it looks super out of place. You'd be surprised how much wind those things block.

and yes I have clip ons, rear sets, and a double bubble windscreen. So I know what I'm talking about.

Would rear sets and an aftermarket windscreen feel weird without having the clip ons to go with them? I almost find the stock rear set position annoying, as my ankles are bent making them in a "v" shape with my feet.

Sounds like your rear sets are in a weird spot... The WC bars have you leaning farther forward. Less upright and therefore a more sport position. The rear sets move your feet back a bit so they are a bit farther back and pointed downward.

An aftermarket windscreen wont effect your position at all but it will deflect wind a lot better. For reference I'm 6ft tall and felt wind hitting me at my chest with a stock windscreen. I bought a Zero Gravity double bubble windscreen and now it hits me in bottom of the visor. That's a lot less wind hitting me and a lot less tuck to escape it completely.

I guess I'll just get a ZG windscreen. I want a clear one though, since I already wear a tinted visor.

The smoke look on windscreens is pretty much for exactly that - looks. How often are you actually looking through your windscreen? I will say though that sometimes at full tuck when I'm trying to look I wish my screen were clear. So good call

BOTH!

But if you're doing it one at a time, do clip-ons first then rearsets, IMO.

With this being said... Max is spot on... (he'll probably save this post though because I don't think I've ever actually said that before )

If you are only going to do one... I would do the screen first and the clip ons second (coincidentally... the exact thing I did) and then get rear sets (which somehow I still have yet to do after 2 years ) it will make a world of difference for you

clip ons first. You may then find that you do not need the rearsets. Yoshimura makes a neat plate that moves your present set up and back. Not too pricey.

On the 250 it's not as easy, but on my gixxer I LOVE tucking in and just leaning on the tank since its bigger.

But to answer your question i think rear sets to be honest

I have these as well as woodcraft clip ons.

If you want comfort, go with clip ons first.... the rear offsets are awesome, for the track cause they get the pegs away from ground, but they are NOT for comfort.
