What is Apex doing posting in here????

I remember my last crash, this was basically my reaction to it. Gotta love low-siding.

I also ended up laughing because I knew better than to turn like that on cold tires. It ended up in new exhaust, bar end weight, and a new lever. Nothing else got damaged.

How was your last crash?
Just remember, if you haven't crashed yet, you will. Gear up.

uhh, a lot less pleasant than that one

on sunday I was at one of my favorite circuits (great tracks have consequences mentality) Shenandoah circuit at summit point. It was raining and shenny isn't exactly known for being grippy (@toeleven can confirm that the track was an ice rink)

so I head out in the after noon to get some more laps in and I get to the right hander entering the bridge straight. This is a tight off camber corner and it's so slick apparently the coaches slid walking to set up the cones (hence why they warned us about that particular corner in the morning's safety meeting) I pick the bike up, at this point I believe I'm basically straight up and down so I start properly feeding the throttle in, turns out I still had too much lean angle (5 degrees at most) and the rear steps out just a nudge, then I'm sideways. Split second later I'm upside down 8-10ft in the air watching the bike flip under/beside/behind me.

Ended up on the ground, took me a minute to get up (by the time I had gotten on my feet the red flag was already out) Few holes in my suit and some damage to the helmet (I hit the ground head first) and my whole body is still still sore as all hell

My last crash was on the way to work around 5am, during this time there is already traffic here in SoCal. I was riding in the HOV lane when I notice a car up ahead swerve to the right and as I go to center my vision back to the road I see a tire heading right towards me. Tire hits my front end, bars slam to one side and there I go towards the floor. I went down around 60-70mph, rolling down the HOV lane, I see headlights, floor, tailights, the dark sky, then it repeats itself and all I can think was please no one hit me. I finally stop rolling and a Toyota truck stops a few feet away, guy jumps out "F*** I almost hit you", and I see the bike like 30 feet away. I walk towards the bike, holding myself against the center divider, and all I can think was how much worse it could've been. The front and right side of the bike was pretty much destroyed and I walked away with my lower right leg scraped up. The gloves and jacket I wore that day are in the trash.

My last crash was during a race. I was chasing down a BSA 750cc triple on my little 350cc single. He'd pull me on the straights but I'd ratchet him right back in on the corners. Couldn't quite get him though.....

Last lap, last three corners left. I had this guy figured out and was going to pass him on the last corner. It's a left hander down a hill with a right at the bottom followed by a left hand 180 degree turn to the front straight, kinda Laguna Seca like.

I take the left and gain. I take the right and the ass starts to slide...no problem, I grew up on dirt bikes, I got this! Next thing I know, I'm flat on my back in the middle of the track and I hear metal sliding. I wiggle all my fingers, all my toes, my legs and arms, I look up and realize nothing is broken and scramble my way off the track and to the dirt on the side, leaving my bike exactly in the middle of the track.

I highsided. Too much red mist, too much lean and the rear let go. I knew better but I was in a hurry and I paid the price. It was also my graduation race to become an expert. Oops.
