Anyone have anything they want me to draw? Post up a pic. Nothing overly complex. I may work on a ninjette drawing...maybe for a wallpaper that can be posted on the site. I have to find something that will work for me.

I need to keep tighter sketchbooks. I ported much to digital...and my pieces I do get to these days are generally all finished. But I always try to get some life drawings in now and then. At the DMV or anywhere people are still for a bit.

I've grown rusty since I've been out of school. These types of videos always make me feel so lazy! xP

Definitely. I watch that and think "now if I drew EVERY DAY since high school, imagine how good I'd be now?"

That kicks my butt. I hope to work it in more often.

Hard to though. I have projects at home, I'm learning a new instrument, plus my daily stuff. Just a lot on my plate. I think things will open up after Christmas. Until then, I will just work it in as time permits.

Tried a few different things in this one. The one in the lower right was my first real use of the "peanut" torso layout. I did it wrong, the torso was too short, but you get the idea.

Is your photobucket public? Just switch ur nsfw ones to a private album, you can still link them but they can't be reported

I have done motorcycles in the past. They were always insanely detailed and took me a long time to do.

However, since I have been working on reducing the details lately, I think I may try again.

You know, if you have to choose between bikes and nude women, you could always pick both... Don't think anyone here would mind.

This is amazing.
Simple and perfect.

I think that the lack of details is great because the one looking at the picture can imagine them. However I have no knowledge of visual arts to be able to confirm my theory.

Thanks You don't need to know anything about art to know what you like to see.

I think people over analyze things these days. I simply like stuff or don't like it.

As far as drawings go, I think people don't know when to stop with the pencils. I am guilty of this at times. Sometimes less is really more. I get lazy and instead of removing some sketch lines, I cover them up by shading. Like in that drawing you responded to, that one the main focus was the face, so I tried to keep it as clean as possible. I like how it turned out too. Like the lips, instead of drawing a line to define them, I felt it would be "softer" to simply shade it in some. The absence of a hard line there really helps, I also plan on using that a bit more often...

I did a poster-sized painting involving bikes.

Took me 5 months to complete. In all honesty, this was in highschool and I was working with other projects, but believe me, it's the details that hurt! xP

And I'm a total sucker for detail.

That is my problem...I get wound up so much in the details. I did a quick sketch of a 250, but I just wasn't into it at the time...it looked totally wrong.

I think if I do the bike thing, I'm going to go into photoshop to do it. I don't think I want to dedicate the time to pencils for a bike drawing. I could always do a rough grid on the paper to just help keep proportions in line...I'll think about it.

Some very quick sketches in my new ultra small sketchbook (3.5"x5.75"). It is nice to have such a compact form of media available. I still prefer my large pad, easier to get flowing lines, but this is nice to have and is quite convenient.

You can definitely tell the difference between a quick sketch of mine and something I actually put some effort into.

Took a bit more time with this one. Not much more, but maybe 2x the time, which still was well under 10-min.

(ugh, the eye on the right side is a tad too far out, maybe two mm...I'll adjust it later...)
