I got the motor for $550 on eBay + $100 shipping. I think I was pretty lucky to get one with such low mileage. Lots of motors with much higher mileage for sale at the same price. Wish I could rebuild the old motor but since Kawasaki doesn't make oversize bearings these engines seem to be disposable, use em up and then get another one.

Pricey, but yes if you wanted a "brand new" motor this would be the way to go.

I finally got my bike "all" fixed up with all the upgrades I had bought. Only thing remaining now is the relay I have to fit for my LED turn signals. It should happen tomorrow. While I'm doing that I'll also be tacking the KLEEN air system. I need to block that off to make my auto tune work better... Or so I've been told... Also got my muffler PC'd black, came out much better than I thought.

Pic for proof :P

Sorry for the terrible lighting. Better pics coming up tomorrow.

She's an exhibitionist

Dropped down to a 98 main and 4th clip on the needles. Bike is so much better now at full throttle in the mountains. I guess the 100 main was a little rich caused some power dips when pulling WOT up a hill. Now to tune the idle, hit the mountains again for another 100 mile trip, and then check the spark plugs. Also people saying nice bike to my naked 250 makes me laugh, but I guess the ninja carries itself with pride even naked haha.

@iplante, those look good too. Nice and roomy. @Kstorm21, yeah, it looks pink because I lowsided at the track and scraped up the decals and paint.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFfff. I scratched the crap out of my tank because of my magnetic tank bag. Apparently a piece of dirt or something got stuck to the rubberry pad and left a long scratch on my gas tank when I went to take off my tank bag.

I picked my bike up from the shop getting repaired from the accident. (Then I went to class and took a test.) Rode for about 30 minutes, to test it and try out new gear, on my first official night ride and got caught in the rain. Then I drove and bought a new cover as the old one was damaged.

If you bought those on fleabay, you should have resealed the lens. They're poorly glued together and you can pull them off with little force.

@cuong-nutz I actually had to buy two pairs, coz my first set got stole. I haven't installed mine either, waiting to see if I should buy new springs/fork oil or not. I've mailed the guys at racetech for advice, lets see. I got this pdf chart from their website.

Nope bought them from Cthunder-blue, otherwise never would have got flushmounts. Oh well more crap for me to fix, 3 straight days of working on the bike and still more to do...and then my car...and then the truck...

I rode 25 miles to school and back. Laughed at a teenager trying to race me in a POS neon that had a dent in every fender.

How did it get stolen??! that's just expensive there! I'm working in the gsxr rear shock mod currently and won't be able to get the Intiminators installed until I get it sent to me (at my parent's).

Yeah I'm only fixing all the body damage that college aholes have done to my car before the weather gets worse. Truck is my Mom's and I'm taking over the maintenance since the dealer screwed up some things that could have been really bad like for example breaking every screw on the trucks metal undertray which almost fell off the car and could have become a very hazardous projectile. In the process of reporting them for negligence.

Dude my bike is a money pit. I spent probably enough money on gear to have another 250 lol, its ridiculous. Need a job now!!! Probably would have gotten rid of my car if I lived somewhere it didn't snow. I have barely driven it since I graduated from college. But its a good reliable car and probably wouldn't sell for much. Might make my own turbo system for it one day after I pick up a BRZ.

I've always wondered what's it like to drive in snow with an all wheel drive car like a scooby. Anyhow, I picked up a 05 gsxr600 shock from a friend yesterday and picked up an 06 gsxr1000 shock.

kitaco make a nice flush blinker that fits into the faring. sorta like the protons i think, around $40 when i asked.

would have gotten them if i were still using the original farings

went to a lil go-cart track (closest thing to a race track on the island currently, ha ha) and had a blast with a couple friends out there for almost an hour on the track.

snapshots from the gopro helmet cam.

havent looked through all the footage, but thats some captures towards the end of the day.

definitely wanna go again, but im gonna help build up a smaller race bike, that track is really small even for a 250, lol...

once i get to bom about on the track moped... then i can be a little more brave, ha ha! touching the ground with the toes is a little creepy, need to get rearsets... slid the back tire out a couple times, gave myself a little fright, but other than that it all went rather nicely.

might post something up on youtube eventually, need to see which video is the best... or i might need to edit them together to make something short but a little interesting to watch

such a pitty that the track isnt like double the size

Oh well that sucks. I took it off don't want toss it in the oven and try resealing it, since certain parts look like they would melt quite easily. I found out just now that the dealer glued the rubber trim to it and wrapped up the bolt thread with electrical tape (I had them replace the fairing they cracked). You tell these assholes not to mess with something and they do anyways. Well I guess I'll let it drain and dry and spread some sealant around the edge. Glad I'm done going to the dealer, I'm doing maintenance on my machines by myself.

I did the same to mine. Best so far was 67mpg on one try. On another I got 304.5 miles on one tank - BONE DRY

I' need to see what I can get with a pulse and coast. Also go to the top of the mountain and start there.

This week I did an air filter change at 12k with K&N and it looked like the stock filter was still in there. Not sure when it was replaced last since I bought it around 9k miles. Then yesterday I replaced the oil with Royal Purple and a K&N filter.

Looking to pick up front and rear stands on Craigslist soon so I can do brakes, sprocket, chain, etc. It's my first time working on a bike so it's taking me a while.

Actually, I'm planning on putting them on today. I wanted to finish off my last tank... 283.1 mi @ 3.968 gal = 71.34 mpg. Finely broke the 70 mpg mark with a new gen. Still stock except for Zero Gravity Turing wind screen. Amazing what ya can do with just driving technique.

I know there's a 7th gear here somewhere...
Changing to 15T/41T, now I'll get that 7th gear, lol.

The stock filter is meant to be cleaned and re-used. Replacing it is an option. Did you read the manual?

Perhaps he meant it was still the original and never cleaned/changed.
