Though i am not feeling to well right now so that may be the week afters saturday ride and ill stay close to home with a short ride this week. i will decide for sure tomorrow. I like taking a different route back to Ojai with a good twisty section on it.
Highway 1 is too mellow for me hehe.

I want to get out and ride somewhere today but today is Dieday I mean Friday I want to try and keep jixxy out of the traffic

even though I used to do the 5/405fwy every morning 6am with all the flipped over and spun out cars that don't use blinkers

Hmmm where's my Friday ride gonna be.

Not to talk **** but dragging knee isnt the goal, the true reason to drag knee is to determine your lean angle. I'm uploading the video of that corner right now, watch my exit speed (and entry) its much faster then KC and Adrian

I take the 1 because it is mellow, on my way to the nice twisty roads or on my home i like to chill and enjoy the scenery and the ride. Then when i hit the the twisty sections of the roads i throw on some music and do my thing. I am getting faster and hanging off the bike more. I am a lot more confidant in doing that now with the dainese gear.

Though i am not going to ojai this time around, ill be southwest of it. there look to be a bunch of very twisty side roads off the lake that look like fun.

Yeah I can pretty much drag a knee at 3mph or 100mph.
Whatever I need
I usually like to do it nice and slow so I don't endanger anyone or my new bike.

Lots of practice at it by now.

Kevin may have done it faster, but there is a lot more lean to his bike. I'm doing it safer.
Plus I was on a much heavier and larger bike.

I'm not trying to race anyone, that's why I don't go to the track.
I was just there to have a good time.
I told Adrian I didn't want t0 post those pictures and here we go!
IMO, you guys are all hanging off the side fine, you need to come DOWN, too.
Look how my arm is wrapped up over and around my tank.
My head directly behind the mirror above the handlebar.
The windshield of the bike is behind my head, because I am off the side of the bike completely.
My head is no longer above the tank. My elbow is.

I rotate forward, around and down the side of the tank. My outside knee pushes in on the tank, my inside foot pushes down on the peg. My elbows are loose and I'm trying not to pull on the handlebars. My head has to stay forward to get my weight centered between the wheels.

Pics and a short video and GPS from today's ride coming right up.
I left the knee pants at home today. I don't play like that often.
GMR is the safest place to do it.

I'm no expert but these guys seem to know what they're doing It's the bikes lean that's important not your bodies' Your body position just accompanies your bike. You drag your knees BECAUSE you wanna lean your bike so far down... If you're leaning and your bike is pretty straight up, you're not turning anywhere

But what do I know.

the problem with that is those are the most extreme examples you can find.
Those are the best racers in the world with the bust rubber in the world on the best tracks in the world trying to go as fast as they can.

I'm trying to go slow while not crashing and get my knee down too because it's fun..

Little different!

PS.. the guy in the red is doing what I do. I think he's just about to straighten out so his head isn't into it. I also guarantee you he's doing a lot faster than 30mph. His bike will have to lean more than mine with less body angle to get knee down. I do same thing with slight more body angle and less speed to get knee down.

For them , the goal is to go fast.
Since I'm not racing anyone, I just want to feel the ground with my puck without getting killed.

Was Kevin racing himself while going back and fourth while I was only trying to get my knee down?

This is why I don't like posting these pictures.
No point to go over who does what.

Ride your own ride and try and do it safely. Don't race me cause I'm not at the track.
I don't want to see what happens when I finally do go.

I gotcha. But you pretty much said it. You're dragging your knee for fun. At those speeds, you don't need to. And yes, those guys are going a lot faster. In some corners, faster than ninjette's top speed

It's not about racing it's technique. Physics is physics at all speeds. To me it feels more dangerous to over lean on a bike that's not going fast enough than leaning just enough but leaning the bike itself to do a safe turn at given speed.

But you're way more experienced than me and I'm sure you'll have a better gauge on what's safe for you. I'm just hearing a lot of technique talk, watching these motogp riders and forming my ideas. I'm sure i'll have a better understanding once I practice it outside of some gentle curves I hit during my everyday commute

That's exactly another point.

You SHOULD be practicing at the track.

That's why I don't wan't to compare myself to anyone else.

I'm not a track rider.

I never learned from the track either and I don't want anyone doing anything I do and getting hurt.

Another reason I did not want to post those pictures.

Kevin was not trying to drag knees, and this is a good thing. Period.
I am a bad example. Period.

I suppose I will put a disclaimer in my posts from now on.

I don't watch Moto GP. I don't know the riders names. I got started in street bikes because I liked how the machines looked. I don't watch much TV. I have never honestly seen a full lap of motorcycle racing besides a quick video on Richards website lol.

It's fun. For me it's no different than average Joe watching football. I may track someday. Hell I may even race people some day but that's like playing basketball and trying to win on a street bball game versus being kobe bryant. i'm just an enthusiast.

So yeah

Enough of this.. Let's talk BBQ day

EDIT: Edited cause i think it was misinterpreted.

Yeah Rossi is doing really bad. Stoner is back in Repsol Honda and Honda's are pretty much destroying this season.

Come on down to GMR gurk.
We missed you last time. lol.
I'd gladly show you how it's done.
I won't even drag knees, just so I'm faster, just for you.
(LOL!)
You guys want to see how fast I really am? You asked for it.

I'm 6'6" tall and I'll still whoop your low center of gravity up.

I hardly have to lean my bike at all to drag a knee.. but if you want to see speed, so be it. Let me know when you're on your way up there. I want to see pictures of you riding it in my dust.

Scraping foot with rearsets?...

More action, less talk.
Any one of you ever wants to see how fast I can really go, you just come on over here and tell me.
Don't try and keep up..
You need more skills than just watching moto GP to do that.
If you want to play smartass, there's a select few of you I'd gladly put in line.. On my stunt ninja.
