Bike losing power and sputtering like its out of gas
So today was my first ride of the year but I had problems and had to turn around. Low speed in any gear seems to be ok. At medium rpms when I crack the throttle a bit it starts sputtering like its out of gas. Then it will surge forward for a little while then back to sputtering. Its like its running out of gas right before you turn it to RES. It also gives off some white smoke if you open up the throttle all the way. Im thinking carbs but would like a 2nd opinion. Thank you

I could be something as simple as a clogged fuel filter or tank vent.
