I guess I can't complain...$78 a year for the pint size Ninja, $180 for my 2000cc Vulcan, & $145 for the Vulcan 800.
The Ninja is just liability, the other 2 are full coverage.

Many people are getting squeezed big time, & it can royally suck!

I've got every coverage imaginable on my ninja and it's $1500 a year. I got quoted on a 2011 FZ6R and it would go up to $7000 a year.

I'm with you guys. This ninja's not going anywhere for a while.

If it's like mine, it will be chopped in half after you've had your first year of having a license. All the places my broker checked had high rates for the first year that went down to half on the anniversary date.
Worth asking before you switch.

I'm way over any magic age but I'm the magic gender. State Farm wouldn't insure me because I didn't have a car license even though my house & the Bigger Half's truck are with them. Grr.

Does the states still penalize male riders/drivers?

Yes. :/

although IDK why because current statistics have shown females are just as bad and starting to get worse then males.... go figure

even testosterone cant be worse then the indecisiveness of the young female driver... (im talking 16-18ish girls) ugh

OOoo, beg to differ with the stats but maybe those stats include those damn idiots texting. I think all women in the future will have bent necks. My MSF class showed that for motorcycles it's still kinda bad for young men compared to women. I hope we never catch up

I'm not afraid of the young female drivers 'cos they slow down thinking I'm a hot young male biker, heh heh. You'd be surprised how fast I can stuff my hair into my jacket if need be.

It's the stressed out soccer Moms in big SUVs that freak me out

Hey, maybe those young girls are being indecisive because they're trying to decide if you're a hottie?

lol that was straight from the mouth of my state mandated drivers training class in High School. Granted that was 9 years ago... but Im assuming its worse at this point. Soccer moms are scary as well, but here Im afraid to ride by the high school at lunch because there is a SERIOUS chance I will get plowed into by one of the kids driving...

but yeah youre probably right on the last part

for some reason jr. high age girls think im the cutest... its so weird. haha

My 250 was quote $2500/year from Allstate for almost full coverage. So I went with Geico for $260/year, same coverage.

Idk why but among big4 600cc, the quote for Zx6r is always the lowest ($600/year), the other 3 are the same $1000/year. Surprisingly, if I can afford a Duc 1098, it will only cost me $700/year. I really have no idea where insurance companies get those number from ?

Jeeze, $1300 seems like a lot but I guess it depends on where you live and other factors. I'd say just stick with the ninjette considering you could have 3 years of ninjette insurance with 1 year of a 600cc insurance

I still think you should shop around. There are many providers out there.

How old are you if I may ask?

Also check out the average motorcycle insurance rates to see based on your age if you are in the right range.

I just insured a 2008 Daytona 675 with State Farm... Full coverage and Uninsured motorist is $40 a month or $480 per year.

depends on where you are located, who you get it with, what kind of 600cc bike you are getting and the biggest thing is how long you have had your license.

OK - but I'm less concerned about me knowing than I am about you knowing. Cheap insurance can sometimes be just that, cheap. There is no universal standard of "full coverage" that is exactly the right amount for everybody. The state minimums of 15k/30k are a joke, and will be exhausted quickly if the injured party has any moderate injuries, and suddenly the rest of the assets you own (and future earnings) become fair game.

I'm 20 with only on ticket on my record (no speeding), and I'm from Ohio.

It's about $650 per year for me just on the 250R.

I can't wait until I'm 25.

I'm 20 with only on ticket on my record (no speeding), and I'm from Ohio.

It's about $650 per year for me just on the 250R.

I can't wait until I'm 25.
I heard that its not that much of a difference anymore, but I guess Ill find out in October... lol

I will let you know....

I hope its cheaper. My sister and brother inlaw are 4 years older than me and my wife and they pay about $50 less than we do a month and have almost exactly the same cars. They have a little bit nicer of a new one (a 2009 Corolla we have 2011 Fiesta) and then we both have 90s corollas... so age is the only difference

I'm waiting till I graduate college to get a bigger bike. Depending on how the insurance looks, I might wait till I'm 25 to get a bigger one and get a new 250R and mod the heck out of it.
