I would never follow a girl on a bike. I think they are creepy.

I think I can clear this up. He pulled up to you because you're hot and on a motorcycle. He started with "hey" and then quickly ran out of material. The awkward silence was because he has no game and is afraid of attractive women.

Lil boys and girls still get grossed out by each other in school. I think we might use the word lergy. "He's got lergy!" Or "ewwwwwww: boy germs".

Lucky for me I'm pretty oblivious and only notice the important things like people that are trying to kill me, adorable small children that I'm 'corrupting', and adorable animals that require aww'ing at.

In all seriousness though approach girls carefully. I know it seems harmless but most of the time being alone, smaller, weaker, and having a guy follow you is a A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT creepy. At least make up for it by being way too nice... or only approaching her in public area.

I hate it when girls play hard to get. The guy definitely wanted to approach you (in a good way) but didn't know what to do.

I don't think that classifies as "playing hard to get". She was legitimately wondering why some guy stopped directly in front of her and then stood there saying nothing for an uncomfortable amount of time. It's creepy. As has been said over and over again in this thread, it's quite likely he meant no harm and was just socially awkward at the worst moment. But that's on him.

Whoa if that was considered playing "hard to get," I'd hate to find out what the standard is! Lol.

This good looking rider pulled up next to me and tried to start a conversation with me. I am a bit awkward about these things lol. It went something like this:

Her: "Hey, nice day for riding, ain't it?"
Me: "Yup."
Her: "You going to such and such route?"
Me: "Nope. Getting gas and going home. Done for the day."
Her: "Oh, ok. "

I had to politely nod to her so she would go ahead since the light turned green and so I could get a nice view of her bike from behind. Pretty CBR.
At the next intersection, we were both turning right and she decided it would be smart to turn in front of a car. Thankfully, the car stopped just in time and she sped off into the distance. Tank top, green hair, and all... she looked interesting.

Also, I see the word "creeper" and all my thoughts lead to minecraft. Guess I'm a nerd.

This is the part where you post on your local craigslist under missed connections:

"Who was that badass on the red CBR who pulled up in front of my 250 and spoke two words to me before riding off? I've been thinking about you for almost a week now...all my friends tell me you were probably just shy and I shouldn't follow up on this, but my gut tells me you're just a bamf. Must meet you!"

...or something to that effect.

Oh, no, that's a terrible idea. What if the guy reads it and ends up finding the OP again? It might make an awkward second meeting.

I am strongly reminded of why I hated high school.
There is "good" and "bad" way to approach a girl, and well, some are unable to tell which one of the endless possibilities is good for that particular girl.

I am sorry he scared you, but I am pretty much sure he was just trying to start up a conversation, and he got confused or scared by how pretty your eyes are, for example.

He might be good at math. Many people who suck at social conventions are good at that.

Okay, ready to be called a creeper, stalker, insane, to be jailed, etc.

I didn't realize that following other bikers creeped them out. I guess I'm going to have to stop doing that.

Just wondering if its obvious that you are a girl when you are on your bike? with all the gear people wear these days, its not always. He might have been thinking about making a pass at you, but then gave up when he noticed that you had a better bike.

It doesn't even have to be on a bike, I'll get creeped out in my truck if somebody behind me makes more than 2 of the same turns.

I don't know why one of our female riders hasn't given the guys a clue; approaching a lone person, but especially women, in an isolated area without proper social context is always a bad idea. It's not "particular" to any woman or have anything to do with high school girls. Imagine sitting alone on an empty beach watching the sunset and a complete stranger walks up from behind you and plops down right next to you. It's just wrong. If you think that's how a guy should be able to approach a girl, well, good luck. I've heard that you can build tolerance to pepper spray.

That could be a dude who: 1). Really IS creepy, 2). Really IS socially awkward/can't talk to females/has a limited vocabulary or 3). Needs to put down the damn Xbox 360/Wii/PS3 and RIDE more. 4). Was lost and needed directions back to the interstate but was unable to communicate that because of what was stated in 2...

If your friends say that they see a CBR zipping around their house then you should consider that he is option 1 and take all precautions. Or just ram left boot into his downspout.
