[visordown.com] - Indian confirms new Chief Dark Horse

INDIAN Motorcycles has effectively confirmed a Chief Dark Horse model is returning to its line-up by announcing a rally to launch it.

The Polaris-owned firm is staging a ride-out called the Dark Horse Challenge, ending with a ‘launch event to celebrate the introduction of a new model’.

A picture has been released showing a bit of the Chief Dark Horse’s front mudguard only.

The existence of the 2016 model was revealed in January by Californian emission documents which showed it would be an 1811cc V-twin making 102.4lbft of torque.

It uses the same engine as Indian’s Chief Classic, Chief Vintage, Chieftain and Roadmaster.

The original Dark Horse was built from 2010 to 2013.

Riders all of all types of bikes are invited to the rally – as long as they can get to Chicago.

The invitation says: ‘Are you tough enough? Join Indian Motorcycle for the Dark Horse™ Challenge in downtown Chicago on February 13 at 4:00pm. Riders of all makes and models are welcome to join us as we head out with a route down Michigan Ave and end at Kaiser Tiger where you'll receive exclusive access to attend our Indian Motorcycle launch event to celebrate the introduction of a new model.’
