Helmet Lock
Okay, call me ignorant, call me what you will... but how am I supposed to use the helmet lock on my pre-gen? The way it's oriented, it will be sitting on the hot exhaust and I don't want that.
Is there any particular way you guys use your helmet locks that will keep it off of the exhaust? Pull down the passenger peg maybe?? |

Get a small cable lock or gun trigger lock (frequently available free from the local police dept.) and if you have a full face helmet, lock it through the visor opening somewhere you find convenient to the bike, like the rear grab bar, frame, bars - look around for a spot.

When I lock my helmet to the bike I do just as you suggested Kyle. I set the helmet on the passenger peg.

Thank god I'm not the only one that couldn't figure this out. Even when I put the passenger peg out the helmet still touches the exhaust. I bought a cheap cable lock and started locking it to the grab rail on the back. Or, if I'm not going to be out of sight of the bike (i.e. convenience store or gas station), I hang it from the mirror.

I had two solutions, the first was putting a screw in the empty hole under the seat. This allowed me to secure it under the seat. More recently, I relocated the lock to the grab bar. I'll post pics if I can find them again.

Ok, here are some ideas. The two green pics aren't mine.
